This course is the first step in a two-part B1+ program, where you build on your B1 skills and begin to communicate with greater fluency, confidence, and flexibility. You explore topics such as communication, life experiences, relationships, places, shopping, and work. By the end of this course, you understand more complex spoken and written texts, express your ideas in more detail, and take part in longer conversations. This course prepares you for B1+.2, where you will continue developing your ability to communicate more naturally and effectively.

Course Details
This course develops the first stage of B1+ performance across all skills. As part one of a two-course sequence, it focuses on helping you move beyond basic independence toward more fluent and flexible communication.
You learn to understand extended speech and texts on familiar and less familiar topics, including narratives, opinions, and descriptions. You identify main ideas, supporting details, and viewpoints in a variety of spoken and written sources. You develop your ability to communicate by telling stories, explaining ideas, giving opinions, and responding to others in more detail. You also learn to manage longer interactions, keep conversations going, and adapt your language to different situations such as social, informal, and semi-formal contexts.
